The Gathering of revolution fliers from around the UK started several years ago and has now become a must for any keen revolutin pilot to attend. Everything was set, hotels booked, tides checked and maps routed. The million and one things that need to be planned to make the gathering happen were all in place.
The only thing that could stop us was the weather.
The week leading up to gathering 38 pilots had confirmed and many more day trippers were expected. With one eye on the weather and the other on the numbers the weekend and the weather drew nearer

After a settled night and a full English breakfast, we hit the beach by 08.30 am and set about erecting the soup kitchen and brew tents. Fliers started to arrive in numbers and we soon had 28 pilots free flying The weather was dry but the winds required a full or mega vent, which set the precedent for the weekend.
Organisation kicked in as we split into groups of 4 and 6 teams with one experienced pilot teaching and calling moves while we established the skill levels. Everyone apart from a few non fliers joined in. Even the invited pro photographer was up and flying a revolution.
As the morning passed the groups came together in larger numbers as confidence grew and the big daft grin was on everyones face as we broke for dinner.
